In 2025 the Labour Government pledged to give 16 & 17 year olds in the UK the right to vote in the next general election, while in Scotland and Wales young people 16 or over can already vote in local elections.  But does voting really make any difference in our political system? If you do decide to vote how do you choose who to vote for? What’s the difference between the general and local elections, is one more important than the other? Why do we get the politicians we do?
